Arsenal suffered a first defeat of the Premier League season this evening by losing away to Manchester United.

The Gunners lost 3-1 at Old Trafford in a result which ends their perfect start to the new Premier League campaign.

Bukayo Saka cancelled out Antony’s first-half opener after the break but a double from Marcus Rashford after that sealed the points for the Red Devils.

Last week, Richard Keys publicly criticised Arsenal – and Mikel Arteta, specifically – for what he felt were over-the-top celebrations following a come-from-behind victory to beat Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

And the former Sky Sports presenter has taken a swipe at the Spaniard again, this time for leaving his technical area during the Manchester United defeat.

Here’s what Keys tweeted during the game:

According to FIFA rules, ‘the coach and other officials must remain within the confines of the technical area except in special circumstances’.

So technically, the BeIN Sport presenter is accurate but, by the same token, who cares?

Keys has regularly been taking swipes at the Arsenal manager for much of the calendar year, including on a number of occasions last season, perhaps suggesting that he’s more interested in slinging dirt rather than rules.

Not only is he the ‘celebration police’ – a moniker allocated to him on Twitter last week after criticising the North Londoners – but he seems hell bent on ensuring that officials notice his habit of venturing one yard outside the technical area.

That aside, there were a number of positives for Arsenal despite the defeat and now it’ll be interesting to see how Arteta’s side respond, having won their first five Premier League outings.
