Well-known sports presenter Richard Keys has stated on social networking site Twitter that Everton should not make excuses for their disappointing start to the 2017-18 Premier League campaign.
Everton finished seventh in the Premier League last season and were expected to challenge for a top-six spot in 2017-18.
The Toffees have failed to make a strong start to the season and find themselves as low as 16th in the standings at the moment.
Ronald Koeman’s side have picked up just seven points from as many matches, and are just two points above the relegation zone.
The Merseyside outfit have had a tough run of fixtures, having had to play Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United already.
Former Sky Sports presenter Keys has stated that Everton should not make excuses, pointing out that Burnley also had to face a number of top teams in the opening weeks of the season.
The Clarets, who are sixth with 12 points from seven matches, have had to face Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool.
