Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson will not wear the number one jersey… for now.

There is no doubt Alisson will be Liverpool’s first choice this season after the Reds paid a world record fee for a goalkeeper to sign him.
But he will not wear the team’s number one shirt, according to The Mail.
The Brazil international has reportedly passed on the opportunity to take the iconic squad number, as a gesture of goodwill towards Loris Karius.
Pundit Richard Keys has hailed the decision as ‘classy’ from Alisson.
Karius has been under increasing pressure since the Champions League final and is losing his place to Alisson. Losing his shirt would compound his misery.
While Alisson may not choose to receive the number one shirt, he could still end up with it if Karius leaves before the transfer deadline.
