West Ham United are not doing well in the Premier League at the moment.
West Ham have made a disappointing start to the season and are in danger of getting sucked into the relegation battle.
The performances of the team and the results have been hugely disappointing, and fans are frustrated.
Former Sky Sports presenter Keys, though, does not blame Bilic for the Hammers’ current problems.
Instead, the well-known sports presenter believes that West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold are the problem.
“West Ham fans constantly told me that they’d be going ‘in a different direction’ after Big Sam,” Keys wrote on his website.
“You know my feelings, despite having a huge amount of time for Slaven Bilic, I was never convinced. How wrong I was!
“They actually are going in a different direction, but not the one they’d predicted. The Champions League looks an awful way off right now.
“I don’t blame Bilic for one minute. He’s done everything he could bearing in mind the cards he’s been dealt from the Boardroom and the Chief Exec’s office. The over-clever owners at West Ham can’t stop meddling. They are the problem.”
West Ham co-owners Gold and Sullivan do have the club’s best interests at heart, but the problem is that some of their signings have not worked out.
Recruitment is an issue for the Hammers, and the club need to look at how the signings are being made and whether the players who are being brought in are good enough to take the team to the next level.
There are some good players in the current West Ham team, such as Javier Hernandez and Manuel Lanzini, and it is only a matter of time before Bilic gets the results that the fans desire.
