Everton are under pressure after a slow start to the season.
Once again Everton came into this season with high hopes of crashing the top six.
And once more, it seems Everton are destined to fall short and may even need to consider their managerial options.
Marco Silva is under pressure after their home defeat to Sheffield United which leaves the Toffees in 14th place.
Pundit Richard Keys is calling for Everton to dismiss Silva and make a move for Rafa Benitez instead.
He believes Benitez would jump at the chance to manage Everton despite his past as boss of rivals Liverpool, and his current very well paid job in China.
Keys wrote on his personal blog: “I’d change coach now. I raised a few eye brows a couple of months ago when I suggested Mourinho would be perfect for Arsenal – new ‘George Graham’ I said. Well here’s one to digest. My suggestion for Everton? Rafa. And trust me – he’d walk back from China to take it.”
Benitez left Newcastle United in the summer after three seasons, after becoming disillusioned with the club’s inability to compete financially.
Everton do not have the same problems and Benitez could potentially turn them into a force.
Silva probably has a far longer leash at Everton than Keys suggests, especially after the way the club fought to get him there.
