Caleb Ekuban joined Leeds United in the summer of 2017.
Caleb Ekuban made a rare start for Leeds United last weekend, as the 23-year-old featured in the Championship game against Reading.
Ekuban, who joined Leeds from Italian club Chievo in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £500,000, was taken off after 77 minutes, as the Championship game last Saturday afternoon ended in a 2-2 draw.
Former Leeds striker Richard Cresswell was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and the 40-year-old noticed a weakness in the game of the 23-year-old.
Cresswell told BBC Radio Leeds about Ekuban: “His weakness is retaining ball in the middle third with his back to play, something that he really needs to work on.”

Ekuban is a good striker who has a lot of energy and pace, and is not scared to run at opposition defenders, but, as Cresswell points out, he does need to improve on his hold-up play and be more comfortable on the ball.
Although the former Chievo striker is 23 years of age, there is still time for him to improve this aspect of his game, and that will come only by training hard.
The striker also needs to improve his shooting accuracy, and it is important for his confidence that he scores in the Championship soon.
