Sam Burns holds a two-stroke lead heading into the final round of The Open Championship.
Burns has played some truly exceptional golf at The Open over the past two days, following his opening-round 73 with scores of 62 and 65.
The American is two strokes clear of Ryan Fox and Si Woo Kim with 18 holes left to play at Royal Birkdale.
Sam Burns has come so close to winning majors in the past, namely at the US Open in 2025 and 2026.

Will The Open Championship be the tournament when the 29-year-old finally gets over the line?
Rich Beem doesn’t think so.
Rich Beem picks the player he thinks will overtake Sam Burns and win The Open
Beem was speaking on Sky Sports in the UK after the third round at The Open on Saturday evening.
The 2002 PGA Championship winner responded when asked who he believes will lift the claret jug on Sunday.
“I have got to say the name before the week even began outside of Tommy Fleetwood and that’s Si Woo Kim,“ he said.

“He is playing extremely well right now and he loves putting on these greens. I love his chances tomorrow.“
The 31-year-old South Korean has enjoyed a fantastic season on the PGA Tour without actually getting over the line and winning.
Perhaps he has been saving it up for one of the biggest trophies of them all.
Sam Burns still has a lot of work to do at The Open
There are plenty of big names lurking on the leaderboard, including Ludvig Aberg and Bryson DeChambeau four strokes back and Tommy Fleetwood a further stroke adrift.
Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Hideki Matsuyama, Jon Rahm and Shane Lowry are all six back heading into the final round.
Sam Burns certainly has his work cut out if he is to win The Open Championship.
However, if he plays anything like he did on Friday and Saturday during the final round on Sunday, he’ll be just fine.
