West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has told Sky Sports, during their live Premier League coverage, that his side were actually very positive at half-time.
West Ham went into the break against Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 down, after a rapid start from Jose Mourinho’s side put them on the back foot.
However, West Ham had not stopped believing that they could get a result, even at that point.
The Hammers’ players apparently were saying at the break that they still felt they had a chance of pulling off an unlikely comeback.
And that belief may well have been what carried them to a point against Spurs.
West Ham scored three goals in the last 10 minutes to overturn the deficit.
And an elated Rice said: “It didn’t feel like a 3-0 game. For some reason they dropped off us in the second half and didn’t try to kill the game off.

“I felt we grew into it, and once we got one, like we said at half-time, we had the belief we could get a draw or a win.”
The comeback will live long in the memory at West Ham and it continues their promising start to the campaign.
David Moyes’ side have navigated through a difficult set of fixtures, and currently sit in eighth place in the Premier League table.
