Leicester City’s Ricardo Pereira has opened up about his debut season in the English Premier League.

A lot was expected off Ricardo Pereira since making a reported £25 million switch from Porto to Leicester City last summer and the 25-year-old has not disappointed.
Pereira has played all but two games in the Premier League this season including every single minute under new boss Brendan Rodgers. The Portuguese international has scored twice and assisted 7 more times in an impressive debut campaign in the English top-flight.
The full-back’s brilliant season with the Foxes did not go unnoticed as he scored a double in Leicester City’s annual awards. Pereira was named the Player of the Year as well as Player’s Player of the Year for his performances which he admits to having been one of the memorable moments of his first year with the club.
Speaking to French outlet Nice-Matin, Pereira admitted that he found it difficult at the start but he felt at home a couple of months into his Leicester career.

Pereira was quoted saying: “I wasn’t expecting it to go so well. I had faith in myself, but you never quite know what to expect in a new country, in a new league. I needed to adapt to life in England, to my teammates, to a new style of play but after 2-3 months, I felt at home.”
A very impressive second half of the campaign which included a stunning strike against Manchester City on Boxing Day should give Pereira a ton confidence going into his second season and with Brendan Rodgers’ trust, he has the potential to be one of the best in his position in the league.
