Goalkeeper: Keiren Westwood
Back four: Jack Hunt, Tom Lees, Glenn Loovens and Daniel Pudil
Carlos loves to rotate his full-backs so don’t be surprised to see Hunt and Pudil replace Liam Palmer and Morgan Fox, respectively. The latter played well at Bristol City on Tuesday, but went nearly a month without a first-team game before then.
Midfield: Callum McManaman, David Jones, Barry Bannan and Adam Reach
McManaman is due a start and where better to get one than at the home of his former employers, Wigan. Ross Wallace scored in midweek and could keep his place – although at his age perhaps a rest is best. Adam Reach is likely to start on the left, while Jones and Bannan are Wednesday’s only serious options in the middle, besides a half-fit Almen Abdi.
Forwards: Fernando Forestieri and Jordan Rhodes
Forestieri should start regardless, with Rhodes vying with Sam Winnall for a place alongside him. However, this could be the perfect opportunity for the pair – Forestieri and Rhodes – to forge a partnership. Imagine the meltdown if the latter doesn’t start?
