The Liverpool teenager recently made a big impact for the club’s under-23 side.
Liverpool have some very exciting teenagers coming through the ranks and now Reds fans can add Rhian Brewster’s name to that particular list.
The 16-year-old spoke to the club’s official website prior to his two-goal haul for Liverpool’s under-23 side against Reading on Monday evening, and little did he know what would follow.
Brewster moved to Liverpool from Premier League rivals Chelsea when he was 14 and he has admitted that the decision was a simple one once he knew the Merseyside club were in for him.
“There were a few clubs interested but once I knew Liverpool were one of them it was an easy choice,” Brewster told liverpoolfc.com.
“Liverpool is a club that does give young players opportunities and it’s a great feeling to play for this club.”
Brewster may only be 16 but on recent evidence he could be a future goal-scoring star for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
As if having Ben Woodburn in their ranks was not enough, now it seems Liverpool could have a strike partnership that plays and develops together over the next few years before potentially forcing their way into the senior side.
There is still a long way to go and it would be easy to get carried away with Brewster’s instant impact for the under-23s, but if he keeps it up he may get that chance he was hoping for sooner than even he could have envisaged.
