What a difference a year makes if you’re Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
According to Foot Mercato, a certain Sofyan Amrabat is very much on Spurs’ radar – and why not?
After all, the Morocco midfielder was arguably his country’s best player during the World Cup, helping his nation to a fourth-placed finish.
Problem is, the player himself is reportedly set to snub Tottenham, favouring a transfer to Liverpool instead.
And honestly, who can blame him?

That’s because 12 months ago, the shoe was on the other foot, and the Lilywhites rejected him.
At least, that’s what Alfredo Pedulla claimed, that the Lilywhites scrapped their plan to sign Amrabat last January despite him being one step away from being an Antonio Conte player at one point.
Of course, Tottenham went on to sign Rodrigo Bentancur and, given how brilliant he’s been this season, few supporters will be upset by that change of heart.
But it does look like the North Londoners do genuinely want Amrabat and therefore there’s an element of revenge, if he does turn down Conte on this occasion to sign for Jurgen Klopp’s side instead.
Whether Liverpool are even keen remains to be seen, and that’s important because if they drop out of the race then suddenly playing under Conte in the Champions League might not look such a bad alternative.
But for now, it does seem like he has his heart set on Anfield and that snub of 12 months ago won’t have helped.
