Aston Villa host Leeds United at Villa Park…but will they get revenge?

Ian Taylor has called on former club Aston Villa to get revenge on Leeds United at Villa Park tonight.

Leeds, who sit fifth in the Championship, travel to the West Midlands aiming to consolidate their spot in the playoff positions.

Garry Monk’s side make the trip to Aston Villa in the knowledge that they have already beaten the Villans this month.

United picked up a 2-0 win when Steve Bruce’s side visited Elland Road at the start of December and, with the way they’re playing, few would back against the visitors doing the double over the Birmingham club.

But Taylor has issued a rallying call to his old side, telling them to ‘fight like lions’ and “get one over” on the Whites following the result in Yorkshire.

Both sides go into tonight’s clash on the back of a win, with Aston Villa beating Burton Albion 2-1 on Boxing Day, whereas Leeds thumped Preston 4-1.

Monk’s side could potentially move third in the Championship tonight with a win, depending on other results, while Villa will hope to move within three points of the top six.
