It must feel awful for Tottenham Hotspur supporters to watch Luis Diaz dazzle at Liverpool.
The former Porto attacker has been a revelation since joining Liverpool in a £36 million deal during the January transfer window.
It’s a particular sensitive thing for Tottenham when you consider the fact that the Colombia international snubbed Spurs to join Jurgen Klopp’s side.
In fact, the Lilywhites even made their interest known well before the Reds, only for the Anfield outfit to steal a march – and a player – on their North London counterparts.
However, Tottenham might have the opportunity to get their own back on Liverpool this summer.
That’s because 90 Min have reported this week that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have been offered a chance to sign Robert Lewandowski.
The Bayern Munich hitman revealed last week that he was probably leaving the Allianz Arena and with Liverpool reportedly in talks at one point, a transfer to Merseyside was certainly considered a possibility.
But Tottenham’s potential interest complicates things and there would be elements of revenge if Spurs were to sign him ahead of Liverpool.
Why would he join them ahead of Liverpool?
There’s no doubt that Klopp’s side are far better than the Lilywhites, evident by the fact they’re challenging for a quadruple.

But the truth is, he would absolutely play more football for the North Londoners than the Reds and being in the twilight of his career, at the age of 33, he’ll want to play as much as possible.
Liverpool already have three centre-forward options in the form of Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, all of whom will probably be there next season.
But Harry Kane is Tottenham’s only traditional striker and with the England international honing his skills as a number 10 under Conte, there’s an opportunity for Lewandowski to spearhead the attack as a number nine ahead of Kane, with Son Heung-min on the wing.
Nothing will make up for Liverpool hijacking the Diaz deal, but pipping Klopp to someone like Lewandowski – who scored 50 goals this season – might heal that wound a little.
