Is John McGinn set for a big season with Aston Villa?

Danny Murphy has told The Daily Mail that Aston Villa’s John McGinn could take the Premier League storm this season.
McGinn was an ever-present figure in helping Dean Smith’s side win promotion from the Championship last season, and scored in the final against Derby County.
In doing so, the Scotland midfielder’s stock has risen dramatically after only a year in English football, with The Sun reporting that he was valued at £50 million amid speculation of a bid from Manchester United.
Fortunately for Aston Villa, that never materialised and the 25-year-old, who was at Hibernian not long ago, looks set to stay in the West Midlands for the time being.
Smith has brought over 10 players to Bodymoor Heath this summer, but Murphy claims that McGinn, signed by Steve Bruce 12 months ago, could be their most eye-catching performer this season.
He told The Daily Mail “Aston Villa have signed a dozen players but their recruitment looks better-planned than Fulham’s was a year ago.
“Guys such as Matt Targett, Tom Heaton and Tyrone Mings know what the Premier League is all about, while Scotland midfielder John McGinn could be a revelation, the way he can go past people.”
The Villans kick off their Premier League campaign with a tricky trip to Tottenham on Saturday.
