Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has had an amazing season collecting two Player of the Year awards but where can he improve?

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has had a superb season at Anfield.

After coming back from suspension for biting Branislav Ivanovic, the Uruguayan’s form and impact prompted the club to get him tied down on a new long term deal earlier in the campaign.

Suarez has rewarded Liverpool’s faith when plenty of other sides would have sold him last summer and he’s produced a staggering 30 goals and 21 assists from Premier League appearances this season.

Regardless of what happens next weekend, Brendan Rodgers and the striker himself will be looking for areas he can improve after the World Cup and there’s one area, which can be found within his goal tally in the league.

Suarez has scored 21 of his goals against sides in the bottom half of the Premier League table, which suggests top half sides are starting to find ways to keep him quiet.

Chelsea gave a great recent demonstration of how to keep Suarez out of a game, which is based around preventing him from filtering his way into the penalty area.

The Blues forced him into dropping very deep to get a touch of the ball, which resulted in him turning and having an extra barrier in the form of defensive midfielders to get through before he hit the back four.

Suarez is a very intelligent player and he will be aware of the areas where he could be doing more to have an even bigger impact for Liverpool than he’s already had this season.

Fortunately for the Reds, they have a manager in the form of Rodgers who has showcased perfectly how to manage individuals this season to get the most out of them.

If Suarez can find ways to score more goals against top half of the table sides next season then who knows? Maybe Liverpool will challenge for the title all over again.
