After a long season in which neither Wolves nor Forest achieved their ultimate aim of promotion to the Premier League, there has been plenty to smile about for both when it comes to individual talent.

Bakary Sako has lit up the Championship while playing for Kenny Jackett’s men, with Michail Antonio also shining for Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Nathan Redmond has dazzled with his skill despite often infuriating Norwich City fans with his final product.

And, as Opta stats show, the trio were the division’s most skilful players this past season.

Indeed, the figures prove Sako is out on top, having won 115 dribbles this term in 41 appearances. Nottingham Forest’s Antonio has won slightly less in more games, while Norwich’s Redmond is on 102 having played almost 900 less minutes than the Forest man.

In terms of assists, meanwhile, Antonio and Redmond trump the Wolves star, with only Alan Judge and Matt Ritchie registering more this season.

On the ball, though, the trio are the only Championship players to have exceeded the 100 mark in terms of how many times they have beaten their man.

Wolves and Nottingham Forest certainly wouldn’t have enjoyed anywhere near the campaigns they had without their star men, while Redmond’s Norwich could still achieve promotion to the Premier League.
