Speaking in his pre-match press conference Dundee manager James McPake has confirmed that Tottenham’s Malachi Fagan-Walcott’s loan spell in Scotland will be cut short.
Unfortunately for Spurs, he’s not being recalled to play a part in the first-team.
Indeed, the youngster has been hampered by injury at Dundee, and he will be returning to north London to aid his recovery.
“Sadly Malachi is returning to Tottenham on Saturday,” McPake said.
“The scan came back and the injury was pretty severe. It’s a tendon problem that we hoped it wasn’t going to be.
“It’s very unfortunate and I’m gutted for Malachi because he’s just come back from a bad knee injury and it looked like he was going to get a run of games with us.
“Sadly that is halted.
“We thank Tottenham for giving us such a highly-rated player. He’ll go back there and do his rehab and we will hopefully see him playing for Tottenham in the near future.”
It’s a real shame to see that Fagan-Walcott’s injury is severe, and we can only hope he’s back in action soon.
The youngster is clearly very highly-rated, Mourinho is reportedly a fan of his, and McPake says that he hopes to see him playing for Tottenham in the future.
Fingers crossed the 19-year-old will recover quickly and begin to make a splash at Spurs next season.
