Celtic sold Armstrong to Southampton in the summer transfer window.

Celtic have inadvertently found their Stuart Armstrong replacement – five months after they sold the 26-year-old to Southampton. That is according to several Bhoys fans on Twitter.
Ryan Christie is back in the Celtic side after 18 months on loan to Aberdeen, and followed up his goal and two assists against Hearts on Sunday with another strike against Dundee on Wednesday night.
It means the midfielder has now scored or assisted more goals in the Bhoys’ past one-and-a-half matches than he has throughout the rest of his Parkhead career, which began in 2015.
And memories of Armstrong, for whom Southampton paid £6 million to prise from Celtic, are fading fast…
Christie is in the final year of his deal at Celtic, a situation the Bhoys manager, Brendan Rodgers, is understandably keen to address.
If a positive resolution cannot be found before January, the 23-year-old will be free to speak to other clubs about a pre-contract transfer next summer.

Can Christie fill the void created by Armstrong’s move to Southampton?
