Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have two of the Premier League’s best players amongst their ranks.
Everton’s Romelu Lukaku
When writing his regular column for the Daily Mail, former Spurs star Jamie Redknapp highlighted how clubs who are looking to spend big this summer will be nervous about splashing out on Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, whereas Tottenham’s Dele Alli will be viewed in a completely different light.
The Belgian hitman has been in sensational form this season, scoring 21 goals in 29 Premier League appearances, although he has been kept quiet on more than one occasion when up against the teams inside the top half of the table.
Alli, meanwhile, has flourished on a more consistent basis, scoring 14 goals in 28 league outings – a quite remarkable tally for a midfielder.
And Redknapp, who made 49 appearances for the Lilywhites, shared his belief that the England international offers far more value for money than Lukaku, when writing his regular column for the Daily Mail:
“Lukaku is one of the hardest players to value. He wants to play in the Champions League but teams will be nervous to splash out £70million on the striker in a way they would not be with a player like Dele Alli.”

With Tottenham riding high in second, just seven points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, and Everton currently in seventh, it could be argued that Alli’s influence on his team is greater than Lukaku’s.
Although Spurs are a much stronger all-round team than the Toffees, so it is probably unfair to judge their respective impacts, when the sides they play for are of such differing quality.
One thing is for sure, this summer will be an extremely busy one for both clubs, and if they manage to hold on to their star men, their chances of success next term will greatly increase.
