Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Romelu Lukaku was asked to compare the Gunners to his new side, Chelsea.

What’s the story?

Well, the 98-cap Belgium international was speaking ahead of Chelsea’s visit to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

When asked to compare the two London clubs, Lukaku said: “It is difficult to compare. They are a team that is rebuilding, I think.”

Now, in our view, that just seems like a nice way to say Arsenal aren’t very good at the moment, which isn’t exactly wrong.

As some fans below pointed out, it’s the delayed ‘I think’ which makes Lukaku’s comment all the more hilarious.

Clearly, the signings of Ben White, Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga haven’t convinced the striker that a rebuild is actually happening.

Sadly for the Gunners following their 2-0 defeat to Brentford, they must face the £97.5m hitman next.

Paul Merson believes Mikel Arteta’s side will struggle against Chelsea’s No.9, who Thomas Tuchel re-signed for the Blues in a club-record deal.

We can’t help but agree with Merson.

Arsenal allowed themselves to be bullied by Ivan Toney on Friday.

With all due respect to the Brentford talisman, if he’s able to bully them, then what will a world-class striker like Lukaku do?

It’s quite a scary prospect, to say the least.

For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter said about Lukaku’s comment…
