Aston Villa’s Conor Hourihane was in action for the Republic of Ireland last night.

Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane was given a mixed reception from Republic of Ireland fans on Friday.
The 27-year-old started last night’s 1-0 defeat by Turkey, before being replaced by Newcastle’s Ciaran Clark on 68 minutes.
The Aston Villa star has been in good form for the Championship side this season, bagging nine goals and two assists.

But the Irishman appeared to struggle to bring his best game to the international fold and some Irish fans weren’t happy with the former Barnsley star.
Hourihane now turns his attentions back toward helping Aston Villa win promotion to the Premier League.
Steve Bruce’s side are fourth in the Championship, but a seven-point deficit from second-placed Cardiff City suggests that the Villans will have to go up the hard way – the playoffs.
Nevertheless, Bruce has won promotion via the playoffs in the past, so Villa will certainly be among the favourites to go up.
