According to a report from Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Liverpool are preparing a second bid for Roma stopper Alisson Becker, after Real Madrid cooled their interest in the Brazil international.

The Italian publication claim that the Reds made a £57 million bid for the 25-year-old earlier this summer, and Jürgen Klopp is determined to bring the goalkeeper to Anfield.

Tutto Mercato Web claims that Liverpool will need to up their initial offer of £57 million by another £18 million, if they want to bring Alisson to the club this summer, but it is unclear as to whether the Reds are prepared to meet that valuation.

Klopp is currently overseeing a wonderfully exciting project at Anfield, but if he truly wants to take his side to the next level, the addition of a world-class goalkeeper will be of paramount importance.

Alisson certainly fits that category, and if Liverpool do manage to sign him this summer, he could prove to be the addition that takes them to the next level.

Reds fans have had to wait 28 years since their last league title win, but with the Brazilian amongst their ranks, they will surely have every chance of ending their barren spell.
