West Ham United reportedly want Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.
According to the East Anglian Daily Times, West Ham United have shown an interest in signing Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski.
The Hammers have been busy in the transfer market of late, as they have recently added Fabian Balbuena, Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson to Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.
West Ham snapped up goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski from Swansea City earlier this summer, with the Pole seemingly being lined up to play as Pellegrini’s first-choice shot-stopper next term.
However, with Adrian still being linked with moves away, another goalkeeper could yet be targeted – and it seems that West Ham have been targeting another Polish international goalkeeper.
The East Anglian Daily Times report that West Ham have shown an interest in rivalling Birmingham City for Ipswich Town’s Bartosz Bialkowski, though their latest reports suggest that he will instead sign a new three-year deal with the Tractor Boys.
Bialkowski, 31, first came to England with Southampton in 2006 as they lured him from Gornik Zabrze, and he has had spells with Barnsley, Notts County and now Ipswich, where has has become one of the Football League’s top goalkeepers since his 2014 move.
Bialkowski even joined Fabianski in the Poland squad for this summer’s World Cup in Russia, with the Ipswich ace serving as third choice behind Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny, and he has just one cap to his name.
A reunion for the pair at the London Stadium seems to be off the table now, with Bialkowski allegedly set to commit his future to the Championship club until 2021 – but it does open the door to West Ham targeting another goalkeeper this summer.
