West Ham United are reportedly determined to keep Manuel Lanzini at the club.
According to the London Evening Standard, West Ham United will refuse any bids from Liverpool for the signature of playmaker Manuel Lanzini.
Lanzini, 24, first joined West Ham on loan from Al-Jazira back in the summer of 2015, and he became an instant sensation with six goals and two assists in his first Premier League campaign.
After penning a permanent deal with West Ham last summer, Lanzini again impressed last season by notching eight goals and two assists, cementing himself as a fan favourite – particularly after his winning goal against rivals Tottenham Hotspur back in April.
Having taken on more creative responsibility in the West Ham side since Dimitri Payet’s departure in January, Lanzini is now the chief playmaker in Slaven Bilic’s team, which is unsurprisingly attracting interest.
Bleacher Report recently claimed that Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing Lanzini, but the London Evening Standard report that West Ham will snub all approaches for their prized asset.
It’s suggested that Lanzini simply isn’t for sale, as letting him go would send out the wrong message in what has been a positive summer for the Hammers, having signed Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.
Arsenal may well be looking for attacking reinforcements should Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil leave the club, whilst the same can be said for Liverpool and linked-away Philippe Coutinho, with Lanzini a possible target.
Spurs face an uphill battle convincing West Ham to sell anyway given their rivalry, but with West Ham standing firm on their Argentinian international, all three clubs may have to look elsewhere.
