West Ham United are reportedly hoping to sign Graziano Pelle.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham United have opened talks over a deal for Shandong Luneng striker Graziano Pelle – but the Daily Mail claim that his wages are something of a problem.
The Hammers have added their first signing of the January transfer window, having snapped up Inter Milan playmaker Joao Mario on loan until the end of the season on Friday.
However, having lost to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Saturday, manager David Moyes may still be in the market for more new signings ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline, with another striker potentially needed.

Andy Carroll’s injury – coupled with questions over Diafra Sakho’s future – mean that another striker could be on Moyes’ wish list, with talks potentially ongoing.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that West Ham have made contact with Chinese side Shandong Luneng over a late deal for striker Graziano Pelle, potentially handing the former Southampton man a return to England.
However, the Daily Mail note that Pelle earns £13.5million a year in wages, meaning he earns around £260,000-a-week – and he would need to take a apy cut in order to make a move to the London Stadium.

Pelle, 32, spent two seasons with Southampton following a 2014 move from Feyenoord, hitting 30 goals in 81 games for the Saints before heading to China with Shandong Luneng in 2016.
The Italian international, known for his strength and aerial ability, hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in the Far East though, and with Shandong Luneng allegedly keen to offload the striker, it’s believed that West Ham are pressing to complete a deal before Wednesday.
