According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United are eyeing RB Leipzig forward Jean-Kevin Augustin for a summer move.

The Hammers have now lost three games in a row after a 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on Saturday, despite having more shots and more possession.

With question marks over the futures of Lucas Perez, Andy Carroll, Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll, a host of strikers could arrive this summer – and the club have a number of targets.

The Daily Mail now report that RB Leipzig attacker Augustin is one option, alongside the likes of Edin Dzeko, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Maxi Gomez.

Augustin, 21, has hit six goals for Leipzig this season, but started just 11 games, having to make do with 13 substitute appearances in a frustrating campaign.

The Frenchman looked set for a key role having notched scored 11 times last season, but he has been on the fringes of the side and may now look to leave.

Jean-Kevin Augustin of RB Leipzig looks on during the Bundesliga match between Fortuna Duesseldorf and RB Leipzig at Esprit-Arena on January 27, 2019 in Duesseldorf, Germany.

Formerly of Paris Saint-Germain, Augustin has real pace, technical ability and finishing, whilst his huge potential means he could be a smart purchase for West Ham, even if he wouldn’t come cheap.

West Ham may have to battle Everton though, as Calciomercato claim the Toffees have made Augustin their No. 1 striker target this summer, and a real battle could ensue for the youngster’s services.
