Newcastle United could be about to make their first summer signing.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Newcastle United are on the verge of sealing the signing of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.
Newcastle are set to land Abraham on loan, after agreeing to pay his £25,000-a-week wages in full.
The Magpies have been impressed by Abraham’s form over the past season, where he netted 26 goals for Bristol City.

The youngster is considered to be ready to make the step up to the Premier League by Rafael Benitez, and will be in competition with Dwight Gayle for a first-team place.
Newcastle are also looking to rush through a deal for Ruben Semedo, the Sun report.

Newcastle have identified Sporting Lisbon defender Semedo as someone who could improve their backline.
However, Newcastle fear that Southampton could jump ahead of them in the queue, unless they act fast.
The Magpies are now hoping to get a deal for Semedo sorted quickly, with the 23-year-old potentially set to follow Abraham to St. James’ Park.
