Manchester United are expected to be busy in the transfer market over the next day or so, with Southampton affected.

Manchester United are preparing for a busy period in the transfer market as they attempt to close deals before the team fly out on pre-season.

As many as three deals could be concluded, two incoming and one outgoing, and there could be more irons in the fire too.

Matteo Darmian

The first deal expected to be finalised is the transfer of Italian international Matteo Darmian from Serie A side Torino.

The Mirror reported late last night that a £12.9 million deal has been agreed, with the right-back to put pen to paper on a four-year contract.

His next step is to fly in an undergo a medical, and be presented ahead of the club’s USA tour.

Morgan Schneiderlin

Manchester United have restarted activity relating to the transfer for Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton.

The Mail report the Red Devils sent officials to the Saints yesterday to attempt to finalise a deal.

United had an offer of £20 million rejected last month, but the Premier League side are keen to sort out the player’s future, with their own alternatives already lined up. The Mail report they would accept an offer of £27 million.

Robin van Persie

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is close to leaving the club, reports the website of Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio.

The Dutchman is said to be closing in on a transfer to Fenerbahce, with a three-year deal on the table.

It is reported he could cost just £4.7 million, and may even travel to Turkey to discuss terms, to follow winger Nani to the club. The former Arsenal captain has only one year remaining on his United contract.
