West Ham United, West Bromwich Albion and Watford are all reportedly interested in signing Ajax youngster Danilho Doekhi.

Reports emanating from Italy today suggest that West Ham, West Brom and Watford are all interested in signing Ajax youngster Danilho Doekhi, according to Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The 18-year-old Dutch defender is highly-rated in his home country, and his imposing 6 ft 3 in frame would seem to be perfectly suited to the intense physical nature of the English Premier League.

The Hammers have made a woeful start to their 2016/17 campaign, and their defensive frailties have been clear for all to see already this season, highlighted by their record of conceding 20 goals in 11 league outings.

The Baggies, meanwhile, have an ageing squad, and Tony Pulis made comments over the last few days on his intention to bring in younger signings over the net couple of transfer windows in a bid to add a more youthful balance to his side (Birmingham Mail).

Watford are also a side in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, after conceding 19 goals during their 11 Premier League outings thus far.

Doekhi is currently part of Ajax’s second team – Jong Ajax, and the report from TuttoMercatoWeb claims that all three sides have scouted the 19-year-old during his time there.

He has six caps under his belt already for his nation’s under-18 side, and if he continues to develop physically and improve technically, he has the ability to become one of the best centre-backs that Holland have ever produced.
