The Bologna defender ended up joining Hellas Verona instead.
Reports in Italy this week have suggested that Nottingham Forest attempted to sign Romanian defender Deian Boldor on loan this summer.
Boldor recently scored his first goal for current club Hellas Verona in a 3-0 win against Cesena in Serie B. It was only his third appearance for the club since joining on loan from Bologna in the summer.

He only joined Bologna from Virtus Lanciano in the summer but the Rossoblu immediately decided to loan him out would be best – and it appears that Forest were interested alongside Verona.
That is according to GianlucaDiMarzio.com. It is reported that Forest were interested in bringing him to the City Ground in the summer but could not get a deal done with Bologna for his signature.
Instead he headed to Verona where he is now starting to settle into his new surroundings.

The 21-year-old, who came through the ranks at AS Roma and has been compared to former Romanian star Christian Chivu, might have been a player Forest needed in the summer.
Their defence has been leaky this season as their defenders struggle to keep attackers at bay.
Unfortunately Forest’s loss is starting to look like Verona’s gain.
