Reports in France continue to link Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi with a move to Marseille this winter – as the French side look to flex their newly found financial muscle.
It has been reported by La Provence today that Marseille have a written contract offer on the table for Amavi and that they are hoping to convince him to force through a move from the Championship side.

Marseille have reportedly already failed in a €10 million (£8.5 million) move for the player, but are willing to go up to €20 million (£17 million) to secure his transfer – as Marseille manager Rudi Garcia is a big fan of the player – according to Foot-Sur7.
However, they may have some trouble convincing Aston Villa into a sale.
Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia confirmed last month that the club had already rejected a £25 million move for Amavi and have no interest in letting him leave the club in January:
Villa still feel they can reach the Championship play-offs but Amavi will be key to any chances they have in that regard.
Under Steve Bruce he has found his form again after his injury struggles and Villa fans will not want to see him depart the club this month.
