Steven Gerrard is set to takeover at Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers and Josh Windass could reportedly depart.

According to the Scottish Sun, Glasgow Rangers could sell Josh Windass this summer – and that would show Steven Gerrard’s ruthless side.

It is claimed that Rangers could be tempted to cash in on Windass, as Gerrard looks to raise funds for the additions he intends to make.

And selling Windass would be a risky move from Rangers’ new boss.

Windass may have his critics in the Ibrox crowd, but he has enjoyed a productive season.

The attacking midfielder has scored 17 goals in 40 appearances for Rangers across all competitions this term, and has been one of their better performers.

There are a long list of players who need to leave Rangers before Windass’ name should even appear.

However, if Gerrard was to offload Windass it could be a promising sign for the future.

If Rangers feel that they can bring in better than Windass, then they will surely have their sights set high in the transfer window.

And Gerrard would immediately be showing his ruthless approach to management, if he does decide to part ways with the 24-year-old.
