There have been some odd reports regarding Niasse recently.
Everton’s new signing Oumar Niasse is presented to the fans before the game
Some bizarre reports have been emanating from Turkey this weekend regarding Galatasaray’s
It was reported by several Turkish sources including Yenicag Gazetesi, that Niasse, Everton and Galatasaray had all come to an agreement over an exit in the winter.
But the latest reports suggest something entirely different.
Everton’s new signing Oumar Niasse is presented to the fans before the game
It is reported by Super Haber that Niasse, who has previously played in Turkey with Akhisar Belediyespor, has used friends in the country to pass a message on to management at the club – which reads:
“Sign me, you won’t regret it. I’m very much in training. Playing (for Galatasaray) would be my dream to.”
It certainly seems that Niasse is keen on Gala, but the report goes on to suggest they are not so keen on him. Cimbom are concerned over his recent lack of activity and potential price-tag.
Bilal Kisa
The report even says Niasse’s entourage were upset by comments by Gala midfielder Bilal Kisa, who reportedly stated:
“This is Galatasaray, not Akhisar Belediyespor.”
Niasse spent one season at Akhisar before joining Lokomotiv Moscow in 2014 but that is clearly not a club with the size and prestige of Galatasaray.
It is yet another odd twist in what has proven an odd transfer for Everton.
Niasse arrived at Everton from Lokomotiv Moscow last January in a deal reported by The Telegraph to be worth £13.5 million.
But he arrived injured and ended up playing just seven times and scoring no goals – failing to impress the Everton faithful.
New manager Ronald Koeman was clearly not a fan of the player and Niasse has not been near first-team reckoning since the Dutchman arrived.
As for a done deal to Istanbul, that seems some way off.
