Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Boubakary Soumare.

According to Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur scouted Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare on Wednesday, and were left impressed.
Soumare, 20, came up through the Paris Saint-Germain ranks before leaving for Lille in the summer of 2017, and he made 14 league appearances last term.
The midfielder, who stands at 6ft 2in tall and has been dubbed ‘the new Pogba’, hasn’t started a league game this season, making 11 substitute appearances, but remains a hot prospect in France.
On Wednesday, Soumare featured for France’s Under-20’s in a friendly clash with Argentina, which France won 1-0 thanks to Dan-Axel Zagadou’s goal.
Now, Foot Mercato report that scouts from Tottenham and Juventus were left impressed by Soumare’s performance, which may well impact the summer transfer window.
Spurs need a box-to-box midfielder after letting Mousa Dembele leave in January, and signing a young prospect rather than the finished article is very much the Tottenham way.

Intriguingly, Le10 Sport reported that Newcastle made a bid for Soumare on deadline day in January, but Lille refused their offer for the midfielder.
Just weeks on, Spurs now appear to be joining the race, and Newcastle would have a tough job challenging Mauricio Pochettino’s men for a deal.
