Tottenham Hotspur may have missed their chance to sign Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Paris Saint-Germain are ready to activate the release clause of Celta Vigo midfielder Stanislav Lobotka – if Adrien Rabiot moves on this month.
Outside of making Kylian Mbappe’s move permanent, PSG have been a little quieter than usual in the transfer window this summer, with Gianluigi Buffon and Thilo Kehrer their only other additions.
The likes of Javier Pastore and Yuri Berchiche have moved on this summer, and another may go in midfielder Adrien Rabiot, with the contract rebel keen to move on when his deal ends in 2019.
PSG may cash in on Rabiot this month whilst they still can, and Marca report that they already have a replacement in mind if he does go, in the form of Celta Vigo star Stanislav Lobotka.
Lobotka, 23, has enjoyed a remarkable rise having been with Trencin in his native Slovakia, then starred in Denmark with Nordsjaelland before heading to Celta Vigo last summer, becoming one of the most impressive midfielders in Spain.
Lobotka has earned comparisons to Luka Modric thanks to his diminutive stature and technical ability, and it’s believed that PSG are ready to activate the €50million (£44.5million) release clause in his contract if Rabiot departs.

That would be something of a blow to Tottenham Hotspur, as The Mirror reported just last week that Spurs were lining up a move to sign Lobotka before the English transfer deadline on Thursday.
Spurs now appear to have squandered their chance to land the Slovakian midfield metronome, and may be left hoping that PSG don’t finalise a deal this month, giving Mauricio Pochettino another chance to land him in January.
