Manchester United are determined to keep Anthony Martial.

According to The Sun, Manchester United have slapped a £100million asking price on forward Anthony Martial, whilst The Mirror claim it’s closer to £75million, ruling Tottenham Hotspur out either way.

The Red Devils swooped to land French international Martial from Monaco back in September 2015, and he enjoyed a stunning first season under Louis van Gaal, hitting 17 goals to kickstart his time in England.

Yet, under Jose Mourinho, Martial has been in and out of the United side, and has scored 19 goals in his last 87 games for United, with his lack of form and regular playing time contributing to his omission from the French World Cup squad.

Earlier this week, Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley told RMC Sport that the forward wanted to leave Old Trafford, but United look set to block the 22-year-old from leaving the club this summer.

The Sun claim United want around £100million for Martial, whilst The Mirror report that it’s a £75million fee on Martial’s head, and Tottenham will be out of the race for his signature either way.

Spurs have been looking to bring Martial to North London, but with Mauricio Pochettino needed to double the club’s record transfer fee to get close to a deal, Daniel Levy is almost certainly going to veto any bid.

That may keep Martial at United, but there is only so long they can prevent him from leaving whilst continuing to keep him on the fringes of the team, especially after seeing his international career take a nosedive this summer.
