According to La Republicain Lorrain, Metz striker Habib Diallo could end up at Sheffield United on deadline day having seen a move to Tottenham Hotspur disappear.
They claim that Diallo was pulled out of the Metz side to face Lorient today ahead of a move, which is likely to happen before Monday’s deadline.
It’s claimed that Sheffield United have come forward with a move for the Senegalese ace, but a more likely move right now – surprisingly – to Strasbourg.
L’Equipe add that Tottenham have ‘closed their doors for good’ on signing Diallo having landed Carlos Vinicius, despite Football.London noting that Diallo wanted a move to Spurs.
They suggest that Sheffield United or even West Bromwich Albion could come back in on deadline day, but it’s currently Strasbourg that look set to sign him.
The Blades spent big on a striker just days ago as they signed Rhian Brewster from Liverpool, but they have managed just one Premier League goal this season.

Diallo, 25, hit 12 goals in 26 Ligue 1 games last season, and fired Metz to promotion in the 2018-19 season by smashing 26 goals.
A four-cap Senegal international, Diallo could help Sheffield United’s attack, but after failing to see a move to Tottenham materialise, he could end up snubbing England entirely and signing for Strasbourg instead.
