Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning a move for Ajax’s David Neres.

According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing up a January move for Ajax winger David Neres in the January transfer window.
Neres, 21, joined Ajax from Sao Paulo in his native Brazil in January 2017, and has become a sensation during his time in Amsterdam.
The wide man hit 14 goals in all competitions last season, and Goal reported in January that he was Tottenham’s second choice target behind Bordeaux’s Malcom.
Neither of them signed, as Tottenham instead signed another Brazilian winger in Lucas Moura, with the current Spurs star potentially third in the list of Samba stars on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar in January.
Now, The Express report that Tottenham are back in for Neres, and are ready to challenge Chelsea and Manchester United for his signature during the January transfer window.
It’s claimed that Neres is valued at around £45million, which would be a considerable outlay from a Spurs side who failed to sign anyone during the summer window.

Given that Pochettino already has Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela and the aforementioned Moura, another winger would be something of a surprise, but these new links to Neres suggest that he’s a player Pochettino is a huge fan of.
Neres is the latest Ajax player to be linked with a move to Spurs, along with Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong, whilst other former Ajax players such as Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen are already starring for Pochettino.
