Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli will reportedly be called up by England.

According to Sky Sports, Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli will be called up to the England squad in a remarkably swift turnaround for the stopper.
The Three Lions have seen playmaker Adam Lallana and attacker Raheem Sterling go down with injuries, but they are taking the surprise decision to call up another goalkeeper.
Despite already having Jordan Pickford, Jack Butland and Alex McCarthy in the England squad, Gareth Southgate is seemingly calling up Bettinelli for the upcoming UEFA Nations League game against Spain and friendly with Switzerland.
The alleged call-up for Fulham star Bettinelli comes after he saved a Pascal Gross penalty in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Brighton and Hove Albion, and also marks a huge turnaround.
The Daily Mail reported just last month that Bettinelli’s future at Craven Cottage was in doubt after being dropped in favour of new signing Fabricio, but he was recalled against Burnley and Brighton.
The report even claimed that Bettinelli rejected a summer move to West Ham United, where he would have surely been cover for Lukasz Fabianski, meaning his snub is so far paying dividends.

With Sergio Rico landed on deadline day and Fabricio still in contention, Bettinelli needs to keep his standards high to not only remain on the radar for an England call-up, but also to keep his place with Fulham.
Fabianski is impressing with West Ham, meaning a new January move is unlikely from the Hammers, and the 26-year-old will no doubt be looking to use his England call-up to fend off Rico and Fabricio at Craven Cottage.
