According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are set to announce the signing of Aberdeen winger Scott Wright in the next 24 hours.

It’s claimed that Rangers have now finalised a pre-contract agreement with the 23-year-old, and that will be confirmed soon.

Wright will sign a three-year deal with Rangers, meaning he will head to Ibrox at the end of the season – unless the Gers try to bring the move forward.

The Daily Record claim that Rangers are expected to immediately re-open talks with Aberdeen in an attempt to get Wright signed up permanently now.

It could even be a swap deal, with Rangers winger Jordan Jones potentially heading to Pittodrie in exchange for Wright.

One other idea mentioned is that Aberdeen could seek a discount on the £350,000 they need to pay to sign Rangers loanee Ross McCrorie permanently this summer.

Wright will be a Rangers player one or another, and it seems to be a pretty ideal move Rangers no matter when he arrives.

Wright is quick and tricky, able to play on either flank, has potential at just 23 and counts as homegrown for European football, so he appears to tick all the boxes for Gerrard’s men.
