Leeds United had been linked with a move for Rafa Mujica.

According to Spanish newspaper Canarias7, Las Palmas are looking to swoop in and sign Barcelona attacker Rafa Mujica ahead of Leeds United.
It’s claimed that with loanee Rafa Mir heading back to Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tomas Pekhart struggling, Las Palmas are now considering bringing in a new striker.
Their search has taken them to Mujica, who was born in Las Palmas and actually started his career with the club before heading off to join the Barcelona ranks.
The 20-year-old becomes a free agent at the end of the month, and Las Palmas are now looking to bring him ‘home’, in a move which may well be tempting to the Spaniard.
This may come as a surprise to Leeds United fans, who had thought that Mujica’s signing at Elland Road was a foregone conclusion. After all, Spanish newspaper Marca suggested last month that Mujica had actually already signed for the Whites.
A month on, and there has been no official communication that Mujica has joined Leeds, and it may well be that the young attacker doesn’t head to Elland Road at all.

After struggling to make the breakthrough with Barcelona, few would blame Mujica for wanting to go back to his roots with a move to Las Palmas, and he may feel that he’ll get first-team chances with the Segunda side too.
At Leeds, he’d be more likely to head into their development ranks. With just weeks to go until his contract at Barcelona expires, this is a shock late twist in the tale. Thought to be Leeds-bound, Mujica’s future may actually lie where it all began after all.
