According to the Daily Mail, Rangers are pursuing a summer deal for Rotherham United’s Will Vaulks, in a move which could cost around £400,000.

The Gers lost 5-1 at home to Old Firm rivals Celtic on Saturday afternoon, making it two defeats in a row against the Bhoys whilst dulling some of the shine from Pedro Caixinha’s start as Ibrox boss.

Caixinha must now plan for the summer transfer window, with Rangers in desperate need of reinforcements – and the Daily Mail report that the Portuguese boss wants a dozen new signings this summer.

It’s stated that one player who could be a target for the Gers is Rotherham United’s Will Vaulks, with the utility man allegedly attracting interest from the Ibrox club.

Vaulks, 23, played over 140 games for Falkirk following a 2013 move from Tranmere Rovers, featuring prominently as a centre back before heading to England to join Rotherham last summer.

Whilst the Millers have endured a torrid season, finishing bottom of the Championship table, the versatile Vaulks has impressed whilst also playing at right back and in central midfield.

Now, with Rotherham relegated to League One, key players could leave the club, and both Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers are believed to looking at Vaulks, with a view to a £400,000 summer move.

The rumours of Rangers’ interest in Vaulks is particularly interesting given that the Daily Mail also reported back in December 2015 that the Gers and former boss Mark Warburton wanted to land him from Falkirk – and Rangers may now hope to finally land their man this summer.
