According to Calciomercato, Napoli will tell agent Fali Ramadani to find defender Nikola Maksimovic a new club in January if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
It’s claimed that Napoli want Maksimovic to sign a new deal in the coming weeks, but a failure to agree terms will mean he is on the chopping block in January.
Napoli seemingly don’t want to lose the Serbian for free when his contract expires next summer, meaning this is a crucial period for the defender.
Quotidiano report that Maksimovic wants a five-year deal worth €3million-a-year, which comes out to around £50,000 in wages.
Napoli now risk losing Maksimovic now, and West Ham United may well be keeping tabs on this situation.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported late in September that West Ham had made an offer to sign Maksimovic before the international deadline, with talkSPORT suggesting that a £14million bid had been made.

No deal went through, and West Ham ended up signing Craig Dawson on loan from Watford earlier this week, bolstering David Moyes’ back line in the short term.
That means a new move for 28-year-old Maksimovic can’t be ruled out, especially if he is pushed towards the Napoli exit door come January.
