According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur have Callum Wilson on their striker wish list – but don’t plan to rival Newcastle United for him.
It’s claimed that Spurs were looking at Wilson at the start of the summer, but now won’t be making a hijack attempt.
Spurs allegedly have reservations over Wilson’s asking price, especially given his questionable injury history at Bournemouth.
Aston Villa have been pursuing Wilson, but it now looks like Newcastle will be winning the race to sign him.
The Telegraph note that Newcastle are now ‘increasingly confident’ that they will secure the signing of Wilson in a £20million deal.
The Guardian add that Newcastle’s £20million offer has now been accepted, with Wilson seemingly set for his move to St James’ Park.

Spurs do need to find a new striker, but they seemingly didn’t like the price tag on Wilson’s head after relegation from the Premier League.
The 28-year-old scored seven Premier League goals last season, and will seemingly lead Newcastle’s attack rather than become Harry Kane’s backup at Tottenham.
