According to Globo Esporte, Liverpool have made a first proposal to Fluminense for their young goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga.
That’s one of the top sources in Brazil, and it’s now backed up by the Liverpool ECHO, who claim that the bid is likely to be accepted.
The 17-year-old has yet to even play for Fluminense’s first team, but he may already be on his way to England.
It’s stated that Liverpool have not only made an offer to Fluminense for Pitaluga, but have even offered his father a job and his family a house.
The player wants to play for Liverpool and his family are keen for him to make the move to Anfield, which is all pointing in the right direction for the Reds.
Additionally, Pitaluga has a German passport, which makes a move to Europe much easier than other deals Liverpool have attempted.
Just look at Allan; Liverpool signed him from Internacional in 2015, but when they couldn’t land him a work permit, they ended up selling him to Atletico Mineiro in January.
Pitaluga, 17, wouldn’t face those issues, and would have the chance to develop and eventually become the long-term successor to compatriot Alisson at Anfield.
Liverpool have already added one young goalkeeper this summer in Fabian Mrozek, but are now attempting to get Pitaluga in too as they look to the future.
