Manchester United are keen on Marco Verratti.

Manchester United are considering entering the race for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly held discussions with his chief scouts over making a move for the Frenchman.

He faces an uphill challenge, with PSG resisting advances from Barcelona already this summer and insisting he will not be sold.

French newspaper L’Equipe reported this summer that Verratti is valued at 100 million Euros (£88 million).

United are one of the only clubs who could afford this figure, and may have a helping hand.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reports Mino Raiola is bidding to become Verratti’s agent, after the midfielder publicly criticised with his current representative Donato Di Campli, who hit out at PSG for refusing to sell him.

Verratti had to distance himself from his agent’s comments to appease PSG fans and the club’s owners, and it is reported that Raiola has a meeting scheduled with him about potentially adding him as a client.

This would be positive news for Manchester United, who now have a strong working relationship with Raiola.

Since Jose Mourinho took over as manager, Raiola has helped the Red Devils close deals for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, and Verratti’s international teammate Paul Pogba.
