According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester City have held positive talks in their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – and the Daily Mail report that the fee would be around £58m.
City have already landed one summer signing, and it’s ironically from Dortmund as midfielder Ilkay Gundogan joined the club last week, becoming Pep Guardiola’s first signing at the Etihad Stadium.

Now though, Guardiola is looking for more reinforcements, and the former Bayern Munich boss appears to not only be heading back to Germany for another target, but also back to Signal Iduna Park to raid Dortmund again.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that City have been in talks with Dortmund over a deal to sign striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and positive negotiations have been held in the last few hours as City look to get the deal over the line.

Aubameyang, 26, joined Dortmund from Saint-Etienne back in 2013, and with 41 goals in his first two seasons, he was considered as one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards thanks to his blistering pace.
This past season catapulted the Gabon international into world-class territory though, as he smashed a remarkable 39 goals in just 46 games – and it’s believed that, having watched him first hand as Bayern boss, Guardiola has made him a top target for City.

The Daily Mail add that any deal would likely be with a fee of £58m, and would give City a devastating attack of Aubameyang, Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, but whilst talks are progressing well, there’s still work for Guardiola and City to do before Aubameyang is a City player.
