According to BBC Sport, Liverpool now don’t plan to make any signings this summer having missed out on RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
It’s claimed that, despite months of rumours linking Werner with a move to Anfield, he will instead be signing for Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Liverpool fans have been hugely disappointed. Werner has smashed 31 goals in 13 games for Leipzig this season, whilst also adding 41 assists.
Those Reds supporters can seemingly end dreams of a new target being lined up, with claims that Liverpool plan to do no business at all this summer.
The impact of the global pandemic will be hard, and Liverpool have seemingly decided that now isn’t the time for a £54million signing in Werner – or anyone else for that matter.
Liverpool were quiet last summer, with Adrian, Sepp van den Berg or Harvey Elliott brought in when fans were hoping for some bigger names.

Goal claim that Liverpool’s recruitment team were ‘convinced’ that Werner would be an ‘ideal signing’ given his pace, hunger and potential.
However, Liverpool won’t be sanctioning big deals this summer, and will have to hope that Werner doesn’t come back to bite them at Chelsea.
