Liverpool want Alexis Mac Allister and are understood to have offered the Brighton and Hove Albion star a five-year deal.

Argentinian reporter Cesar Luis Merlo has today reported that Liverpool have indeed made a proposal to Alexis Mac Allister.

It’s stated that Liverpool have offered Mac Allister a deal until 2028, no doubt communicating through his agents.

This lines up with what Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday, as he suggested that Liverpool’s move for Mac Allister was progressing well.

Romano stated that Mac Allister is ‘100%’ leaving Brighton this summer and Liverpool now looks like his most likely destination.

This won’t be a cheap deal though as 90Min reported just last week that Brighton want around £70million for Mac Allister.

Brighton only paid £7million to sign Mac Allister from Argentinos Juniors in 2019 and now stand to rake in huge profit.

Liverpool will naturally attempt to bring that fee down during negotiations but Brighton are tough to deal with and will command a massive price.

Brighton players think Alexis Mac Allister is off to Liverpool

The Daily Mail also report that Mac Allister’s Brighton teammates thoroughly believe that he is heading to Liverpool.

Seagulls players have been ‘openly discussing’ Mac Allister moving to Anfield with Liverpool’s approach seemingly public knowledge at Brighton.

This will give Liverpool fans real belief that Mac Allister will be a summer signing for Jurgen Klopp, offering vital quality in midfield.

The Reds have backed away from the Jude Bellingham race but could land a proven Premier League player in Mac Allister.

The 24-year-old has bagged eight goals and one assist in 28 Premier League games this season.

A World Cup winner with Argentina too, Mac Allister seems ready to take the next step in his career.

That could well be with Liverpool as rumours over a move to Merseyside gather pace.
